Bhopal 31 January 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari during visit to New Delhi today. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was specially present. Chief Minister Chouhan discussed in detail with Gadkari about various works including bypass, ring road construction in Bharatmala project in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Sagar.
Chief Minister Chouhan thanked the Union Minister Gadkari from his heart for the cooperation being extended for Madhya Pradesh. Continuous approvals are being received for various works in Madhya Pradesh. Many obstacles in the works related to Atal Expressway have also been removed, which will make it easier to complete all the construction works. The economic activities of the state will get a new impetus.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that establishing a strong infrastructure in the state is the first priority of the state government. Chief Minister Chouhan said that today there was a discussion with Union Minister Gadkari about strengthening and building internal roads in 56 cities of the state and the bypass / ring road in remaining parts of five big cities Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior Sagar at a cost of Rs 750 crore under first phase of Bharatmala project. This will reduce the traffic pressure in the cities. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari gave his consent for this. For this, Chief Minister Chouhan has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gadkari.
Meaningful effort, meaningful dialogue
Chief Minister Chouhan, after meeting Union Minister Gadkari, said that the 404-km-long Atal Pragati Path (Express-way) passing through Gwalior Chambal region will speed up the development of Madhya Pradesh. This path will prove to be important in the direction of overall development of Chambal and Gwalior region. There will be a positive change in the economy of all the cities, towns and small and big villages of the region. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the problems of land acquisition have been removed for this way. Successful efforts are being made in removing the obstacles.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is necessary to get the missing stretches of Ring Roads of 5 important cities of Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Sagar completed soon through NHAI. He said that it would be easy to develop industrial hubs and logistics hubs from these ring roads. He informed that 75 percent ring road of Bhopal city is built. It is necessary to build a ring road from Mandideep to Indore road in the remaining 25 percent length. This proposed ring road will connect NH-64 (Bhopal-Obedullaganj) with State Highway number-28 (Bhopal-Dewas).
Similarly, half part of the ring road of Indore city is present in the east. The western side of the ring road is planned by the National Highways Authority of India. This proposed ring road will connect NH-52 (Agra-Mumbai).
Proposed Ring Road for Jabalpur City will connect National Highway No.-30 (Jabalpur-Rewa), SH No. 55 (Jabalpur-Damoh), NH-45 (Jabalpur-Bhopal), NH-30 (Jabalpur-Nagpur), NH-30 (Jabalpur-Mandla), NH-45 (Jabalpur-Amarkantak).
A 42 km bypass is constructed in Gwalior city
towards east/south. The remaining 28 km is the proposed ring road. The proposed ring road will start from NH-44 (Gwalior-Jhansi) and connect to NH-46 (Gwalior-Guna).
Similarly, in Sagar city, a 28 km long route has been proposed from Barkheri to Garhpahra by the National Highways Authority of India, whose tender is under process. Its construction will facilitate the Bina-Bhopal-Indore traffic. Construction of Ring Road is necessary for the ease of traffic going from Katni-Jabalpur to Bhopal-Bina. This ring road will connect NH-146 (Bhopal-Sagar) and NH-44 (Jabalpur- Lakhnadon) to NH-934 (Sagar-Kanpur). SH 21 (Sagar-Rehli) will connect South of Sagar and NH 146 (Bhopal-Sagar).
Narmada Expressway is horizontal industrial backbone of the state
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the proposed Narmada Expressway would prove to be the backbone of development of industrial and tourism activities in the state. This ambitious project is proposed to be built from Amarkantak (Kabir Chabutra) to Madhya Pradesh-Gujarat border. In this 10 districts of the state Anuppur, Dindori, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Raisen, Sehore, Dewas, Indore, Dhar and Jhabua will be connected. Along with this, 8 districts Shahdol, Rewa, Bhopal, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani and Alirajpur will be connected by feeder routes.
Distance between cities and towns will be reduced
Chief Minister Chouhan said that there are national highways in many cities, now bypasses are also being built. As a result of the new works, the distance between some towns and cities will also be reduced and inconvenient turns will also be eliminated. Surely the direct benefit of all this will be received by the citizens. Chief Minister Chouhan said that talks in this regard have also taken place today. Union Minister Gadkari has done the work of solving the problem while taking care of everyone. Chief Minister Chouhan informed that such ring roads in Bhopal, Indore, near which economic activities can be started, were also discussed. He said that different works would be completed within the stipulated time frame with quality – Window to News
