Local people’s committees will participate in government works: CM Chouhan

Bhopal 08 February 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the villagers of his home village Jait have taken a pledge that Jait will be made one of the best villages in the country. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Chouhan started the birthday celebration of all villages and cities of the state once a year, from Jait as Gaurav Diwas. Member of Parliament Ramakant Bhargava and Chief Minister’s wife Sadhna Singh were also present.

Chouhan, while clarifying the concept of celebrating birthdays of villages and cities as Gaurav Diwas said that it is not possible to implement the schemes of the government properly without the participation of the local people. Therefore, it has now been decided that by forming committees of local people, everyone’s participation in all government works will be ensured. He said that such people who have gone away from the village and city due to other business, should also come for one day and make a plan for the development of their town and village by sitting together. He said that local people can also cooperate in many works.

On the initiative of Chief Minister Chouhan, the Gram Sabha at Narmada Ghat in the village passed a resolution to complete more than a dozen works related to life in the coming one year with the consent of the villagers.

Now Anganwadi will be nourished with Poshan Matkas

Chief Minister Chouhan made a proposal in the Gram Sabha that no child born in Jait would be malnourished. It was decided with the consent of the villagers that Poshan Matka would be kept in the village and the villagers would arrange nutritious food for the children by giving food grains as per their capacity.

Promising children of Jait will no longer be deprived of higher education
On the suggestion of Chief Minister Chouhan, the Gram Sabha decided that now the IQ of all children will be tested through counseling. There will be no dearth of higher and excellent education for the promising children.

Now lack of land will not hamper development work
A proposal was made before the Chief Minister in the Gram Sabha that health centres, community halls, Dharamshalas, school buildings etc. should also be constructed. The problem of non-availability of government land for building construction was pointed out. On the call of the Chief Minister, Tahar Singh of the same village assured to give his land for the construction of government building. The Chief Minister told the villagers that no one’s land would be taken forcibly. Government and private land can also be exchanged. The Chief Minister said that he was ready to exchange his land.

Narmada and Pathar Patti road approved

Chief Minister Chouhan informed that the Narmada belt of Shahganj via Bharkachh and the Pathar Patti connecting a dozen villages of Shahganj with Baktara has been approved. He said that the Pathar Patti road would be developed like a national highway.

Community building will be built in Samla Mohalla

Even after the sanction of the fund, the issue of not being able to build a community building due to non-availability of land also came up in the Gram Sabha. Villagers of Samla, who belong to Kewat community said that land is available in their area and it was decided with everyone’s consent that now a community hall would be built in Samla.

CM’s son takes pledge to make the village clean

A resolution to make Jait the cleanest village was passed in the Gram Sabha. When a proposal to keep dustbins for wet and dry waste was made in the Gram Sabha, the Chief Minister’s son, Kunal Singh Chouhan, on behalf of his Sundar Trust, agreed to keep dustbins in the village. It was also decided that a plant would be built for the treatment of sewage from the drains and a big pit would be made for composting along the Narmada for the disposal of the waste. The Chief Minister inquired about the implementation of tap water scheme in the houses and decided that arrangements would be made in the remaining houses of Kewat locality at the earliest.

Special emphasis on women empowerment

The Chief Minister proposed in the Gram Sabha that Jait should be recognized for women empowerment. It was decided with the consent of all the villagers that they would be linked with the livelihood mission by forming self-help groups of the village women for local works, like making uniforms and manufacture of nutrition food. It will be the responsibility of the Panchayat Department to provide training to these women. He directed the Additional Chief Secretary to make arrangements for making the products available in the market.

Approval of housing for 173 villagers

On the proposal of Chief Minister Chouhan, it was agreed in the Gram Sabha to do the work of construction of houses of 173 villagers who are eligible in the population plus survey in a phased manner. The Gram Sabha decided that the construction of houses would be the same. Building materials should be bought together, so that the material will be cheap and good houses will be built. It was also decided that the decoration of these houses would be the same.

Now the entire Jait will be together on the birthday and marriage of girls

It was decided in the Gram Sabha that Jait would now treat sons and daughters as equals. Now on the birth of a daughter, the villagers will distribute sweets and celebrate happiness by welcoming them with garlands. Similarly, if any daughter of the village is married, the villagers will participate in the arrangements like that of their own daughter.

Self-employment initiative for youth

It was decided in the Gram Sabha that youth should be linked with self-employment, agriculture alone will not do. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the youth of the village would be provided training for self-employment as per their interest. Youth will also be able to do other works including food processing. He said that the youth would be linked with self-employment by providing benefits of Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, Mudra Yojana, Mukhyamantri Udyami Kranti Yojana, Path-Vendor Yojana etc. The Gram Sabha has decided that along with building a big temple at Narmada Ghat, free arrangements will be made for the food of Narmada Parikrama pilgrims. A villagers’ committee will be formed to monitor and implement the resolutions passed in the Gram Sabha. It was also decided that construction and development works pending due to lack of elected Panchayat, should be done through contract method.

CM Chouhan distributed cheques to women of self-help groups

Chief Minister Chouhan distributed cheques to the members of self-help groups. He distributed cheques of Rs two lakh to Ganga Maiya group, Rs two lakhs to Nari Shakti group, Rs one lakh to Maa Sharda group and Rs one lakh to Maa Narmada group. He distributed cheques of Rs. 10,000 to Vimlesh Vishwakarma under Street Vendor (Path-Vendor) scheme and Rs. 30 thousand to Sushri Maya Namdev under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Loan Scheme.
