Programme held in Mansarovar Auditorium at the Assembly
Bhopal 09 March 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that in a democratic system, the responsibility of the people's representatives is towards the people. Therefore, the behaviour and conduct of public representatives in the House should be in accordance with democratic dignity. Legislators can develop the best feeling and image in the general public regarding the functioning of the legislature only by their behaviour and work style in the House. We also have this responsibility in order to pass on these democratic traditions and values in the right form to the coming generation.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the Parliamentary Excellence Award 2021 distribution ceremony organised by Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla presided over the programme organised at Mansarovar Auditorium located in the Vidhan Sabha. Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha Girish Gautam, Minister of Law and Legislative Affairs Dr. Narottam Mishra, MLA and former Speaker of the Assembly Sitasharan Sharma, ministers, public representatives and officials were present.
Chief Minister Chouhan welcomed Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on his arrival in Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He said that Birla has set an example for better functioning of the House by establishing new traditions while keeping the old traditions alive. The depth of Birla's works and the height of thoughts are commendable.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Girish Gautam deserves congratulations for restarting the tradition of distribution of Vidhan Sabha awards. By rewarding the best works and activities, they become alive forever. Chief Minister Chouhan, in his address, remembered the Patwa style of former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa in the Vidhan Sabha and also mentioned the memories of the former members of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated Law and Legislative Affairs and Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Finance Minister Jagdish Devda and Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh for being honoured with the Best Minister Award. Chief Minister Chouhan also congratulated MLAs Sushri Jhuma Solanki, Yashpal Singh Sisodia, Bahadur Singh Chouhan, Jaivardhan Singh, award-winning journalists and officers and employees for being honoured with the Outstanding Legislator Award – Window to News
