CM Chouhan Visits Martyr Constable Narayan Prasad Sonkar’ House and Pays Tribute

Assures All Possible Help, Hands Over a Cheque of Rs. 25 lakh to Family
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited village Gangtirakalan-Teonthar Tahsil of Rewa district on Monday and offered floral tribute to Martyr Constable Narayan Prasad Sonkar who laid his life during an attack carried out in Sukma of Chhatisgarh on April 24. CM Chouhan assured Smt. Sunita Sonkar, wife of Martyr constable and son Deepak Kumar for all possible help. Minister for Commerce and Industries Rajendra Shukl, MP Janardan Mishra, Chairman Vindhya Development Authority Subhash Singh, Collector Rahul Jain, SP Satna Mithilesh Shukla were also present.
CM Chouhan handed over a cheque of Rs. 25 lakh to the family of Martyr Sonkar as an honorarium amount on behalf of the state government. Chouhan mentioned that Martyr Sonkar has laid life discharging duties in the security of the country.

He further mentioned that a plot or house in Rewa constructed by Housing Board will be given to the Martyr’s family. Every basic facility will be provided in the Martyr’s village. Road will be constructed from main road to Martyrs’ house after taking consent of private land holders. Furthermore, Chouhan said that entrance gate will be made in the memory of Martyr Narayan Prasad by the Member of Parliament Rewa from his fund.
After paying tribute to the Martyr Narayan Prasad Sonkar, Chouhan while addressing the public gathered in the home village of the Martyr said that he pays obeisance to the courage, valor and bravery of the Martyr. His family is our family now. His wife Smt. Sunita Sonkar is a daughter of the government. Their all problems will be solved immediately. Proper education arrangements for his daughter will be ensured. All the basic facilities will be provided in the Martyr’s village, he added.
CM Chouhan stated that schemes and programmes are being implemented by the state government for the welfare of every section of the society, whether it is education or health sector. Beneficiaries’ oriented schemes have been implemented besides development. Making arrangement of food grains for poor, schemes are being implemented from state level for aged persons. Chouhan urged the villages to avail benefit of all these schemes and told the departmental officers/employees to ensure benefit of the schemes to the eligible persons.
Moreover, Chouhan heard the grievances of the villagers who reached the helipad in Gangtirakalan village in large number and assured their redressal.
It may be mentioned that a resident of Gangtirakalan village Narayan Prasad Sonkar who was posted as a constable in 74 Battalion CRPF laid his life during a naxalite attack in Sukma district of Chhatisgarh on April 24. Martyr Narayan Prasad Sonkar’s last funeral rites were performed with full state honour in home village Gangtirakalan on April 26 in presence of Industries Minister Rajendra Shukl who attended the funeral as a representative of the Chief Minister, Collector Rahul Jain and Public Representatives. An economic assistance of Rs. 35 lakh from the Union Government and Rs. 15 lakh from the Chhatisgarh Government has been given to the family of the Martyr constable.-WTN
