Bhopal 05 April 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that health camps will be organised for women in all the districts. Arrangements will also be made for necessary treatment after health check-up and examination of women in the camps. Along with the gynaecologists and doctors of the state, a safe atmosphere and environment is available to all the doctors to discharge their responsibilities. This ideal situation should remain, the agencies concerned will be kept active in this direction also. According to the findings of the research papers presented in the five-day gynaecologist convention being held in Indore, the state government will also make necessary arrangements.

Chief Minister Chouhan was inaugurating the 64th All India Obstetrics and Gynecology Convention (AICOG 2022) being held in Indore today through video conference from the Chief Minister's residence. Health Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade and session's co-secretary Dr. Rachna Dubey were present. The convention is being organised by Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI).

Number of institutional deliveries increased in Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister Chouhan said that this convention is very important from the point of view that activities were suspended due to Corona in the last two years. The FOGSI organisation deserves congratulations for preparing the outline of this convention. Continuous work has been done for the empowerment of women in Madhya Pradesh. They have been empowered by providing them with better health and education facilities. Schemes like Ladli Laxmi have been very successful. The sex ratio in the state has increased to 956 from the birth of 912 daughters per 1000 sons. Our effort and goal is to make these numbers equal. There should be no difference between sons and daughters.

Women empowerment is our priority, will not spare the miscreants

Chief Minister Chouhan said that women empowerment is the priority of the state government. Madhya Pradesh is the first state where 50 percent seats in local bodies were given to women. Women also showed merit. If we look at the example of Indore, then Smt. Malini Gaud became the Mayor, after that Indore is consistently on top in the field of cleanliness. Also the miscreants are not being spared. Action is not limited to only registering FIR against persons committing violence or abuse against girls or women on the soil of Madhya Pradesh, but work is also being done to economically devastate such persons. Work is being done to demolish the houses of such persons with bulldozers at various places. The miscreants will not be spared under any circumstances.

Experience of experts will be useful in the treatment of rural women

Referring to the health problems of rural women, Chief Minister Chouhan said that often due to shyness, many women do not express their physical problems, due to which their suffering turns into breast and uterus cancer. Due to delay, proper treatment is also not possible. Chief Minister Chouhan expressed hope that this convention would bring out important conclusions after mutual exchange of technical skills, best innovations and experiences of gynaecologists. Chief Minister Chouhan expressed the hope that experts who have daily experience of the challenges of obstetrics and gynaecological diseases will also work to show necessary direction to the government. The exchange of experiences and findings related to medical service of experienced doctors and specialists will prove useful for better treatment of rural women. There has been a significant reduction in infant and maternal mortality rate in Madhya Pradesh, efforts will be intensified to reduce it further. At present, 92 percent of institutional deliveries are taking place, which will become 100 percent, such efforts will be made. Apart from this, the systems will also be strengthened for the cure of other diseases of women. The Chief Minister also mentioned about the provision of funds for nutrition and food for economically weaker women through Sambal Yojana, providing support to the girls of such families for higher education and career building.

Doctors have their right to get safe environment in working place

Chief Minister Chouhan said that people associated with medical service are hardworking, they work even in adverse circumstances. Doctors have given commendable services during the Corona period. Sometimes some elements take violent action against the medical class, such activities will not be tolerated. Incidents of violence against doctors are condemnable. There is a safe atmosphere and environment available to the doctors in Madhya Pradesh, which is also their right. Doctors Protection Act is in force in the state. The government will try to protect these rights of doctors.
