Bhopal 09 April 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that it is our resolve to give good governance to the people of the state and it is our goal to change the lives of the people by ensuring effective implementation of development and public welfare schemes. The responsibility of building a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh lies with the state level officers as well as the officers posted in the districts. Chief Minister Chouhan said that mafia makes life of common man difficult. The campaign being run against mafia and miscreants will continue in the state.  Obeying the scepter is dharma. Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated the Collector and Superintendent of Police of the districts for maintaining better law and order. He said that the Collector-Commissioner conference is the medium of evaluation, which will continue every month. We have to make the state’s system the best in the country.

Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the Collector-Commissioner conference at Mantralaya today. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena were present. Additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, all collectors, commissioners, inspector general of police and superintendent of police of all departments virtually connected through video conference. Initially, the compliance report of the instructions given in the video conference held on January 20 last was submitted.

Land mafia and goonda elements will not be tolerated

Chief Minister Chouhan said that land mafia and goonda elements will not be tolerated in the state. Proceedings should continue against them and they should be destroyed financially with strict legal action. Chief Minister Chouhan has said that the fear of the mafia and dabangs and their morale has to be shattered. Along with this, the morale of the common citizens should be given a boost, so that they themselves can raise their voice against the mafia and the oppressors. The Chief Minister said that the land freed from the mafia would be made available to the poor for housing. This is the Madhya Pradesh model of establishing law and order and freedom from fear. Impact assessment of the actions taken against mafia in the state should be conducted. It was informed in the meeting that 1791 cases were registered in the state from January to March 31 while taking action against land mafia, goons and illegal encroachers. So far, 2244 acres of land has been freed by breaking 3814 illegal encroachments, which cost about Rs.671 crores. Maximum actions were taken in Bhopal, Khargone, Indore, Jhabua and Tikamgarh districts. Maximum 309 acres of land have been freed in Sehore district and 281 acres in Gwalior. The districts with weak action include Sagar, Shajapur, Katni, Narmadapuram, Satna, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Narsinghpur and Dindori.

Campaign against mining mafia must continue

Chief Minister Chouhan directed that intensive campaign should be continued and strict action should also be taken to stop mining mafia, illegal sand transportation and mining. It was informed in the meeting that 857 accused have been arrested while taking action in 3531 cases of illegal sand transportation and quarrying. One lakh 25 thousand cubic meters of sand and 3490 four wheelers have been confiscated in the state. Dewas, Shahdol, Bhind, Khargone and Rewa are among the first five districts to take action in cases of illegal sand mining and transportation. 43 thousand 280 in Bhind, 25 thousand 170 in Anuppur and 11 thousand cubic meters of sand were confiscated in Sehore. The least action of illegal sand mining and transportation took place in Shajapur, Guna, Burhanpur, Harda and Narsinghpur.

Accused in 201 cases of sensational crimes punished

Reviewing the serious and sensational crimes identified, Chief Minister Chouhan said that the government should be strongly supported in all such court cases, so that the criminals do not escape. It was informed in the meeting that in the quarter from January to March 2022, 286 identified cases were pronounced by the courts, out of which the accused in 201 (70pc) cases were punished. In the month of March 2022, there were 75 percent punishments, which is the maximum number in any month since 2008. In the period from January to March 2022, 100 percent punishments were ordered in 10 districts of the state.

Strict ban on narcotics

Chief Minister Chouhan directed that drugs should be strictly banned and public awareness programmes should be organized in schools and colleges so that the younger generation can be saved from it. It was informed in the meeting that while taking action against illicit liquor, 63 thousand 665 cases were registered from January to March and 5 lakh 64 thousand liters of illicit liquor and 26 lakh 80 thousand 675 liters of lines were seized. Action was taken under NSA against five accused and zilabadar action was taken against 134. During this period, 214 vehicles carrying illegal liquor have also been seized.

Action against chit fund companies must be taken

Chief Minister Chouhan said that strict action should be continued on chit fund companies which are eating up the hard earned money of the people. Strict action must be taken against them and money of the citizens must be returned. It was told in the meeting that Rs 152 crore was returned to 46 thousand 245 investors in the year 2021. Rs 33 crore 73 lakh have been returned to 11 thousand 547 investors from January to March 2022.

Freedom from adulteration campaign must continue

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the campaign against adulteration should continue and strict action should be taken against those selling spurious mawa, milk and adulterated food items. It was informed in the meeting that 511 FIRs have been registered and NSA action has been taken against 42 in the anti-adulteration campaign. NSA action was taken against 61 people last year. In 2971 cases, a fine of Rs 14 crore 16 lakh has also been imposed by the courts on the concerned. From January to March this year, 81 cases were registered in which adulterated food items worth Rs. 2 crore 35 lakh were seized. In the same period, NSA action was taken against four accused. The Chief Minister directed to run a special campaign against adulteration of milk and mawa in Bhind and Morena.

Four cities of the state declared winners in Eat Smart City Challenge

Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated district administrations of four cities of the state namely Ujjain, Jabalpur, Sagar and Indore for being declared winners in the Eat Smart City Challenge. 104 cities of the country participated in this competition.

Operation Muskaan has been restarted

It was told in the conference that Operation Muskaan has been restarted in the state in February. In February and March 2013 boys and girls have been traced and rescued. According to the Union Home Ministry, 352 NGOs are registered with FCRA in the state. These are being monitored through a special portal. So far, physical verification of 30 institutions has also been done. In the state, 10 thousand 711 cameras are installed at 1966 places and 3436 in 859 police stations.
