Governor honours Chief Minister with Champions of Change Award
Bhopal 12 April 2022: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that people get inspiration and confidence to face the challenges of life by respecting the changes which are giving new direction to the society.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the contribution of the honoured talents to the society shows that man can command the universe by recognizing his caabilities.
Governor Patel and Chief Minister Chouhan were addressing the Champions of Change Award ceremony at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center. Governor Mangubhai Patel honoured Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan with the Champions of Change Award.
Governor Patel said that respect for those who promote life values in the efforts for inclusive development strengthens harmony and goodwill in the society. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the world has recognized the power of our democratic institutions, economic power, scientific prowess, culture and diversity. He said that with the completion of the 75th anniversary of independence, it has to be ensured that the barriers related to economic empowerment of women are removed. Efforts for justice and development opportunities for the deprived sections of the society must be expanded.
Efforts should be made to bring them into the mainstream with high standards. He also lauded the role of the jury, which has maintained high standards of the award process. The Governor congratulated those who were honoured and gave them a standing ovation.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the state has become proud by honouring the talents who brought laurels to different areas of the society. Referring to the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda and the context of Mahabharata, he said that life has to continue to move forward. Honour is just a stepping stone. The destination has still to be reached. Those who work by recognizing their talents, get better results. He said that the honor of those with the designation along with those who have done outstanding work through hard work and dedication throughout their life shows the impartiality of the jury. At the same time, it gives inspiration to follow the example of others.
Former Chief Justice of Supreme Court Justice K.G. Balakrishnan congratulated the award winners. Former Indian diplomate Dayakar Ratakonda briefed about the jury. Jury member Ved Pratap Vaidik recalled the excellent work and nature of the respected personalities. He also gave an introduction of their individuality.
Champions of Change Award Committee Chairman and Founder Nandan Jha said that honoring the heroes who made the country and the society proud, is an effort to introduce them to the society through the award. He threw light on the background of the award ceremony. In the welcome address, General Secretary of the committee, Devendra Pratap Singh said that the award ceremony is an attempt to give direction and inspiration to the society. With this spirit, those who have contributed to the society have been honoured with the award.
Former Union Minister Vikram Verma and former Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Mizoram, Uttarakhand Dr. Aziz Qureshi who were awarded with the Champions of Change Award also addressed the occasion.
