Ensure adequate cash availability in cooperative banks for farmers: CM

Chief Minister instructs officials regarding payment of procurement amount  

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan instructed to arrange payment of wheat procurement amount to farmers on time. He said that adequate cash availability in cooperative banks should be ensured. This should be monitored every day.

Chief Minister Chouhan took a meeting of officials in this connection at the Mantralaya. He instructed to resolve the problem being faced by farmers in clearance of procurement amount from banks immediately. He said that maximum farmers had accounts in cooperative banks. There should be problem in payment due to cash shortage so adequate and regular cash availability in these banks should be ensured by the Reserve Bank. Cash should be made available in those districts where more cash is needed.

Chief Minister Chouhan instructed Principal Secretary, Cooperatives for coordinating this. It was told that the procurement amount was reaching bank accounts regularly. Chief Secretary B.P Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Finance A.P. Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Cooperatives Ajit Kesari, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashok Vernawal and Reserve Bank Regional Director Ajay Michiyari and other officers were present at the meeting.-WTN
