Bhopal 23 April 2022: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that security is must for development and for security police is must. Referring to an incident, he said that during a bus journey he saw that a woman was holding a small child in her lap during the long wait for the bus. On being asked, the girl said that Bhai hai to bhar nahin. He said that the responsibility with which the girl had taken her brother in her lap, with Such a spirit of responsibility and sentiments police should be recognized in the society and country.
Governor Patel was addressing the closing ceremony of the 48th All India Police Science Congress of the Bureau of Police Research and Development held at the Central Police Training Academy, Bhopal today. In the Congress, more than 90 representatives from different states of the country discussed various topics related to policing.
Governor Mangubhai Patel said that policing has to change from reactive to predictive according to the changing times. The police have to take the
responsibility of providing justice to the victims and protecting the public from anti-social elements. The behavior of the police should be sensitive, the spirit of the work and feelings should be to seek help and trust. Referring to the incident of a police cop taking a child in lap and saving him from a house under fire during arson, he said that this is the best proof and example of policing. He expected the participants to spread the thoughts of the seminar to all levels of policing and to implement the theoretical
discussions on ground and contribute to the welfare of humanity and enhance the efficiency of the police. The relationship between police and society will be further strengthened.
Director General of Police Research and Development Bureau Balaji Shrivastava gave details of the action taken in various sessions of the seminar. In the inaugural session, the Union Home Minister emphasized the importance of data analysis, common information system of the states and new methods of policing. In other sessions, various aspects of the police investigation were discussed in detail. The need for a blended module of training based on new technology, innovation and pandemic experiences was also considered.
