Bhopal 25 April 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that an effective strategy should be made to encourage the export of agricultural products in the state and its effective implementation should also be ensured. Information about the export of wheat, paddy, cotton, soyabean, fruits and vegetables including DOC should be uploaded on the portal. It is necessary to ensure that farmers get maximum price for their produce. Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing wheat export and Rabi procurement in Mantralaya. Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Animal Husbandry, Horticulture and Food Processing JN Kansotiya, Principal Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, Principal Secretary Co-operatives KC Gupta along with departmental officers were present.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the present global scenario has provided an opportunity to expand the possibilities of export of wheat to different countries of the world. Active work has to be done in this direction. It was informed in the meeting that teams have been sent to Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal to register the exporters from outside the state. Activities to export wheat to Egypt are also going on. 123 railway rakes have been dispatched for export since March.
Chief Minister Chouhan during review of the Rabi procurement directed that the Chief Minister's Office should be mandatorily made aware about the daily status of wheat procurement and payment. There should not be any sort of delay in the payment. Also ensure that the farmers do not face the problem. Strict action will be taken on receipt of complaint regarding payment. Chief Minister Chouhan also obtained information about the status of wheat procurement, transportation and payment and arrangement of gunny bags.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the convenience and interests of the farmers who bring wheat for procurement should be fully taken care of. Arrangements can also be considered for providing godowns to store the wheat that has arrived for procurement and paying 75 percent immediately after checking the wheat and making the balance payment after e-auction.
It was informed in the meeting that 4 thousand 221 procurement centres have been set up in the state. So far 22 lakh 81 thousand 542 metric tonnes of wheat has arrived in the mandis.
