CM Chouhan announces additional assistance for Khargone riot victims

Bhopal 20 May 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Smt. Sadhna Singh Chouhan gave their best wishes to Sushri Laxmi Muchhal of Khargone while virtually participating in her marriage ceremony. While assuring the Muchhal family, Chief Minister Chouhan said that the government has extended full assistance to the riot affected families. Additional assistance is also being provided. State government will provide an additional amount to those whose vehicles and goods have been damaged. Minister-in-charge of Khargone, Kamal Patel was present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Chouhan also congratulated and blessed bridegroom Deepak Sanghvi of Gujarat with whom Sushri Lakshmi of Khargone tied the knot. Assistance of Rs. 1 crore 31 lakh 32 thousand 855 has been provided to the riot affected of Khargone earlier also. In compliance with the assistance announced by Chief Minister Chouhan today, an additional Rs 70 lakh 95 thousand will be provided to them.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that on the occasion of this auspicious event, my greetings to the baraatis and the newly-married couple. The Muchhal family is not alone. The government stands with you. The people of Madhya Pradesh are also with you. Chief Minister Chouhan said that all arrangements were made for this marriage. Whatever happened in Khargone was unfortunate. The goods collected for the marriage of the daughter in this family were also looted. Legal provisions have been made for recovery from those who caused the damage. Sushri Lakshmi is a form of Lakshmi, she has our blessings. Many senior leaders and officials have also appeared here today. Household items including washing machine, Activa have been given to the newly-wed.

Chief Minister Chouhan interacted with bride Laxmi and said ‘Mama ki duayen leti ja... ja tujhko sukhi sansar mile... I will come to Khargone soon.’ Chief Minister Chouhan also interacted with Laxmi’s brother Satish. Satish said that ‘I had lost all hope at the time of the riots. Public representatives had assured full cooperation. We were concerned about the expenditure involved in the marriage. Today I am very happy after having spoken to the Chief Minister.’ Chief Minister Chouhan also welcomed all the baraatis who had come from Gujarat. Chief Minister Chouhan also interacted with Sushri Priya Kushwaha of Banaskantha, Bhabhar district of Gujarat. Many administrative officers including Commissioner Indore Dr. Pawan Sharma, Collector Khargone Kumar Purushottam and police officers also attended the marriage.

Muchhal family gets emotional

While talking to Chief Minister Chouhan, the members of the bride's family including the bride and groom were emotional. Laxmi has no parents. The family includes Laxmi's elder brother Satish and sister-in-law Sapna, besides their two children and younger brother Lucky. Satish Muchhal is responsible for the sustenance of the entire family. In the riots that took place on April 10, miscreants also looted goods from the house of Sushri Laxmi Muchhal.
