Complete the Works of Irrigation Projects at Fast Pace within Time Limit : CM Chouhan

Bhopal 23 May 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the works of irrigation projects under construction in the state should be completed at a fast pace in time-limit. He said that the quality of works should also be taken care of. Chief Minister Chouhan was presiding over the 74th meeting of Narmada Control Board at his residence today.

Finance Minister Jagdish Deora, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and other senior officers were present.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that providing water to the farmers for irrigation is the priority of the state government. Water supply should be started after completing irrigation projects and canals. Chief Minister Chouhan directed that there should not be any delay in the work of irrigation projects and complaints regarding delay should not come to the fore. He said that the construction companies should work within the time limit.

Additional Chief Secretary Narmada Valley Development Authority SN Mishra informed that 70 percent work of ISP-Kalisindh Lift Micro Irrigation Project (1st phase) to provide irrigation facility through micro irrigation system in one lakh hectare area in Dewas, Shajapur and Sehore districts has been completed. The time period to complete the remaining work is to be extended till 31 October 2023. In the meeting, the construction work of Indira Sagar Project main canal from 155 km to 206 km and tender cases of various projects were also discussed – Window to News
