CM Calls for Public Participation in Anganwadis

Bhpal 23 May 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that on Tuesday, May 24, he will reach out to the people and make a call to seek public cooperation for Anganwadis. With the cooperation of the public, the necessary items for the Anganwadi centres will be collected. Chief Minister Chouhan will launch a material collection campaign from the Ashoka Garden area of Bhopal by taking a hand cart. Chief Minister Chouhan called a meeting at Mantralaya today to discuss the outline of the campaign. Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and other senior officers were present.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that "Adopt an Anganwadi" campaign is being run in the state. To give impetus to this campaign, he himself will call upon the public to provide toys and stationery material to the Anganwadi children by taking a hand cart. He informed that at many places people have given water coolers and furniture to the Anganwadi centres. Many citizens have come forward to include nutritious items in the diet of the children coming to these centres. The campaign can be conducted in a better way only with the cooperation of the public. If there is voluntary support, then the utility of these centres will increase and such children will also reach the Anganwadi centres, who are not coming presently.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that even in rural areas, farmer brothers have provided food grains for Anganwadi centres. Support is also being received in providing other food items in a pot. The Chief Minister said that public cooperation is necessary for providing school bags, drawing sheets, colours as well as comics and other educative literature to children in urban areas.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the children coming to Anganwadi centres should not feel deprived in life, for this the government and the society will have to make joint efforts. Different sections of the society will cooperate. These include members of voluntary organisations, officers-employees, traders, public representatives and office-bearers of the resident unions.

Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang informed that by covering a distance of about one kilometer on foot from Vivekananda intersection to Mansa Devi temple in Ashoka Garden area, toys and other necessary materials for Anganwadis will be obtained with public cooperation. Public representatives will also be present along with Chief Minister Chouhan – Window to News
