Bhopal 28 May 2022: President Ram Nath Kovind said that the main goal of the National Health Policy announced in the year 2017 is to provide quality, affordable health services to all the people in the country. For good health, a ‘holistic health approach’ means that medical treatment should be in coordination with all medical systems. In the last two decades, Arogya Bharti has done commendable work in this field in a well thought-out and organized manner. He informed that Prime Minister Modi has laid the foundation stone of the Center for Traditional Medicinal System in Jamnagar, Gujarat, where study and research will be done on medical systems of 170 countries.

President Kovind today took part in the one-day Arogya Manthan organized by Arogya Bharti on ‘One Nation-One Health System is the Need of the Day’ at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center. He also released the magazine ‘Arogya Sampada Sarva Samaveshio Swasthya’ published by Arogya Bharti.
President Kovind said that in the last two-and-a-half years, the world has suffered a terrible pandemic. What if there had been no scientists and doctors? The vaccine saved a large percentage of the humanity of the whole world. India and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi are being praised all over the world for the supply of vaccine. When he visited the countries of Jamaica and St. Vincent, he was told that had India not provided them the vaccine, half of their population would have died. Kovind also mentioned the works of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in relation to Corona control in Madhya Pradesh.

President Kovind said that the system of one nation-one health system has been there in India since ancient times. Maharishi Patanjali wrote his books on yoga and health after studying the then medical systems. Charaka and Sushruta Samhitas are also proof of this. Ancient system of medicine is very useful.

President Kovind said that today the importance of Yoga has been proved at the international level. It is very useful for good health. Yoga is beneficial for all. It is unfortunate to associate it with anyone’s faith or religion.
President Kovind said that simple lifestyle and good thoughts are the basis of health in accordance with nature. Ease of conduct, proper diet and physical labor are must for good health. One must adopt a simple and natural lifestyle. He completed his address by quoting a verse from the Gita.

Yuktaharaviharasya Yuktacheshtasya Karmasu |
Yuktaswapnavabodhasya Yogo Bhavati Duhkhaha|
Meaning- Yoga that destroys sorrows proves only to the one who eats properly, makes proper efforts in actions and sleeps and wakes properly.

Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that availability of quality health services is essential. The experience of Covid-19 tragedy has proved that no single system of medicine can address all health concerns by itself. At present, the increasing number of lifestyle diseases in urban and rural population indicates the need for special attention in this direction. He said that the imbalance in food habits and environment is the main reason for spread of diseases.  In earlier times, people used to take sattvik and nutritious food and used to labour more to stay healthy and fit. For a strong nation, citizens need to be healthy, free from diseases and happy physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, intellectually and spiritually. The use of local medicines and medical systems will reduce the medical expenditure, increase awareness among the general public about the prevention of diseases and the number of actual patients will also be controlled. He said that I have full knowledge of the efforts being made by Arogya Bharti from service project to research work. One nation one health system is the need of the hour in the present situation when medical expenditure is going out of proportion. Arogya Bharti is contributing wholeheartedly in this work, which is a matter of pride for us. Arogya Bharti has developed the concept of inclusive health in rural areas through Arogya Mitra Yojana. The Governor congratulated Arogya Bharti for this commendable trend and contribution.

Welcoming President Ram Nath Kovind to Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the people of the state are happy with his visit. President Kovind’s thoughts, personality and creativity are an inspiration to all of us. Chief Minister Chouhan said that different medical systems are not competitive with each other, but complement each other. During the difficult times of Corona, the state overcame most difficult situations by using all the methods of medicine. Necessary arrangements were made in the hospitals of the state under the leadership, guidance and cooperation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. By taking help of Ayurveda, a (kadha) decoction was distributed among the people to increase immunity. A Yog se Nirog campaign was launched by adopting the method of yoga. The holistic efforts made by adopting various methods were effective in controlling Corona in the state.

Appreciating the initiative of Arogya Bharti to bring all the systems of medicine and treatment on one platform, Chief Minister Chouhan said that the guidance provided regarding public health would be implemented by the state government.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that in Indian culture it is believed that a healthy body is of utmost importance for happiness. For this yoga, pranayama and regular routine are necessary. In Indian culture, the viewpoint that "Jaisa khaye ann - waisa bane man" (what you eat - so will be your mind) has a lot of importance. The effect of this belief is clearly visible. As a result of the increasing consumption of food grains loaded with chemical fertilisers and pesticides, people are suffering from many diseases. In this situation, adopting natural farming has become the need of the hour. Chief Minister Chouhan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for the campaign launched for natural farming.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the study of pulse has its own importance in Ayurveda and the efficiency gained in surgery in Allopathy has set new standards in medicine. Each medical discipline has its own characteristics and importance. Arogya Bharti will create a suitable, best path for human health by taking in account as a whole the various medical disciplines existing in the world and not just in India. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the process of building a strong and prosperous nation is going on under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Modi is also providing necessary arrangements and facilities to the masses, giving effective leadership, guidance for building a healthy nation.

Keynote speaker Dr. Ashok Varshney of Arogya Bharti said that all medical systems have their own characteristics and limitations. They complement each other. Arogya Bharti treats everyone with respect. There is no medicine for every disease. With proper lifestyle, diet and small efforts, we can treat and diagnose diseases. The doctor-patient ratio is extremely low in India, especially in rural areas. The number of doctors should increase. Treatment and use of local herbs will reduce the cost of treatment. In India, there is a system of rituals like Swarnaprashan among children, through which immunity can be boosted. One Nation-One Health System is the need of hour.

Giving the welcome address, National President of Arogya Bharti, Dr. Rakesh Pandit said that coordination of all medical systems is necessary for the health of the nation. Healthy person, healthy family, healthy nation is the goal of Arogya Bharti. It is our right, nature and duty to be healthy. Proper diet and lifestyle are the basis of good health. We work for preventive, promotional and positive health. We inspire the general public for good health through information, education and communication.
