Work of Jal Jeevan Mission should be completed within the time-limit – CM Chouhan

Bhopal 21 June 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions to speed up the ongoing works under Jal Jeevan Mission. Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is the commitment of the state government to supply tap water to every household of the state. Delay in work will not be tolerated in this technological age. To ensure that completion of work within the stipulated time, work should be allotted to the agencies concerned as per their capacity and the progress of the work should be continuously monitored by the officers. Adequate technical staff will be made available to complete the activities conducted in Jal Jeevan Mission in time-limit. Chief Minister Chouhan has said that quality should not be compromised under any circumstances.

Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the review meeting of Jal Jeevan Mission at the residence office. Minister of State for Public Health Engineering Brijendra Singh Yadav, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Public Health Engineering Malay Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Finance Manoj Govil and other departmental officers were present.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that special efforts should be made in Jalabhishek Abhiyan to enrich water sources where they are weak in Jal Jeevan Mission. Also, arrangements should be made to measure work through digital entry and electronically.

It was informed that activities of Jal Jeevan Mission are to be covered in 51 thousand 585 villages of the state, out of which approvals have been issued for 39 thousand 565 villages. Chief Minister Chouhan also directed to submit month-wise information about the progress and possible date of completion of water supply schemes – Window to News
