CM Chouhan pays tributes at Veerangana Rani Durgavati’s samadhi sthal

Bhopal 24 June 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid floral tributes to Veerangana Rani Durgavati at her Samadhi Sthal in Jabalpur today on her 458th Balidan Diwas. The Chief Minister offered flowers at the statue of Rani Durgavati and her son Veer Narayan and paid obeisance.

Chief Minister Chouhan, during his interaction with the media, said that Rani Durgavati did not accept submission to Akbar. She fought bravely and laid down her life. Rani is a unique example of women empowerment. She is a symbol of a woman’s dignity. She was a skillful ruler, she never accepted slavery. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Rani Durgavati gives us the inspiration to live with self-respect. She served the public and undertook many development works. Rani Durgavati did remarkable work in water management and got 52 ponds and 64 talaiyya constructed in Jabalpur. With her vision, several amazing works were done in water management.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that after Rani Durgavati, it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has given maximum attention to water management. 75 Amrit Sarovars are being constructed in every district during the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Chief Minister told about the efforts made by the state government for the honour of Jannayaks, efforts made to bring the youth left behind in the race for development at par, through good governance, employment and development, community forest management and decision to give responsibility for collection and sale of tendu leaves by gram sabhas.

Chief Minister Chouhan had snacks at Sanskardhani Didi Cafe of Triveni Mahila Aajeevika Sankul group, which started today near the Samadhi Sthal of Rani Durgavati. The Chief Minister described Didi Cafe as an effective step towards women empowerment.

Chief Minister Chouhan planted a banyan sapling at Veerangana Rani Durgavati’s Samadhi sthal and said that tree plantation is necessary for environmental protection.
