Students should speak truth and practice religion: Governor Patel

Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that every student should always speak the truth and behave according to religion, only then everyone's life will be prosperous. Students need to inculcate the spirit of social harmony in life. He said that the work of the university is not only to provide degrees, but to make the youth the leaders of unity, integrity, nation building and development of the country. The Governor was addressing the 10th convocation of Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa on Monday.

Governor Patel said that we are celebrating the Amritmahotsav festival of independence. Many heroes and martyrs have sacrificed their lives to liberate the country. The new generation should take inspiration from the lives of these martyrs. Governor also released the Diksha Parv, the souvenir of the university, Vindhya Bharti, National Education Policy and Tribal Design Art Book.

Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Prime Minister has implemented the National Education Policy in place of Lord Macaulay's education system. This policy will make the students knowledgeable as well as hardworking. He said that we are making such a system of education, in which knowledge, employment opportunities and culture will be available.

At the function, Swami Paramatmanand Saraswati said that education should not be based only on information. Along with giving us opportunities for livelihood, education should also teach us the art of living.

Governor Patel gave away medals and titles to the students of various faculties. He honored Vindhya's pride Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi with DSC. Honorary Degree of M.Sc. and Honorary D.Litt Degree to Social Worker Ms. Anuradha Sharma.
