Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Jabalpur along with the state is moving ahead on the path of continuous progress in all fields. Intellectuals and youth should make Madhya Pradesh the number one state by becoming partners in this journey of development. The state government will become richer by using the talent of the citizens of the state. Chief Minister Chouhan was interacting with intellectuals in Jabalpur today regarding the development of the state.

Mentioning the achievements of the state made in various fields, Chief Minister Chouhan said that today Madhya Pradesh is playing a leading role in irrigation, electricity, roads, industry and crop production. New heights of development have been achieved through integrated, co-ordinated and well-planned efforts in the development of the state. The co-operation of the common man has also been there in these achievements. He said that there was a time when Madhya Pradesh was counted in the category of sickly states, today due to coordinated efforts, Madhya Pradesh is being counted among the top-10 states of the country.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the condition of the state before the year 2003 is not hidden from anyone. It was not known whether there were potholes in the road or the road was built on potholes. Today the appearance of roads in Madhya Pradesh has changed. There is a network of roads all around. National Highway has also been built. Due to the increase in connectivity of roads in the state, investment is also increasing rapidly. The Chief Minister said that the state will get new dimensions of development from Atal Expressway, Narmada Expressway and Vindhya Expressway. The country’s second largest ring road will be built in Jabalpur. The Chief Minister has said that Narmada Expressway is my dream project, which will be built from east to west, this will promote business and employment. Atal Expressway is being built in Chambal in the name of Atal ji. There will be no connectivity problem anywhere in the state.

The Chief Minister said that there was a time when there was a fear of dacoits in the ravines of Chambal, SIMI network and Naxalism dominated the region. Today there is no organised gang of dacoits in Chambal or anywhere else. SIMI network has been destroyed. There has been a strong attack on Naxalism. This year, 6 naxalites carrying rewards worth lakhs of rupees have been killed in encounters. The rugged land of Chambal is being converted into industries. Industrial areas will be developed on both sides of all expressways.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the state is continuously moving forward in the field of industry, due to which the possibilities of employment and business are increasing. Electricity generation has also increased, due to which electricity is being supplied 24 hours a day. Irrigation capacity has increased from 7.5 lakh hectare to 46 lakh hectare. As a result of this, we surpassed Punjab and Haryana behind in production. The production of wheat and rabi crops has increased from 100 lakh metric tonnes to 700 lakh metric tonnes.

There is an action plan to irrigate 65 lakh hectare area by the year 2026. Agriculture growth rate increased by 18 percent due to irrigation and the state bagged the ‘Krishi Karman Award’ seven times. This is nothing short of a miracle. Madhya Pradesh’s wheat and basmati rice are being globally recognized. New records of agricultural production are being created. Due to increase in production, money has started coming in the pockets of the farmers and the whole economy has started running smoothly. This has given impetus to capital formation and investment. The scenario of Madhya Pradesh is transforming.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Global Skill Park will be built in Jabalpur. In this, youth will be trained and given employment by boosting their skills. Industrial possibilities will be explored in an area of 456 square kilometers around Jabalpur Ring Road. Livelihood Mission is being promoted by disbursing loans every month under the Mukhya Mantri Udyam Kranti and Self-Employment Schemes. He said that he is against unemployment allowance. That is why the Mukhya Mantri Kaushal Kamai Yojana has been started, in which an amount of Rs. 8100 will be given to the youths while they learn work. With this training the youths can make their future bright. The Chief Minister said that although the Global Investors Summit was held in Indore, the investors have shown more interest in Jabalpur.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is now Tiger State, Leopard State, Gharial State and Vulture State as well. There are many creations like Mahakal here, Namami Narmada Corridor will soon give a new identity to the cultural heritage of Jabalpur. Along with this, tourism and employment will also get a boost.

Chief Minister Chouhan urged the enlightened people to form an apolitical team of talented people in Jabalpur to become partners in the development of the state and use their talent and thinking in the interest of the state.

Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in Jabalpur

Chief Minister Chouhan announced opening of Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in Jabalpur. During the programme, the CM presented Young Achievers Awards to youths who have done remarkable work in various fields.

State Planning Commission Vice Chairman Sachin Chaturvedi presented the action plan related to the development of MP. He said that the state is fast moving towards economic prosperity. Innovative efforts have been made for skill development. Participation in the agriculture sector has also increased in the state. The budget has also been hiked for industrialization. He said that apprenticeship will also have to be developed for industrial development in the state. Working within the financial limits, the budget has been increased, in which financial discipline has been maintained. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country where Social Impact Bond has been started. Chaturvedi said that the state is continuously moving forward with the model of all-inclusive development. He called upon the enlightened people to participate in the development of the state and investors should come forward in the food processing sector.

Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh informed about new dimensions and possibilities of development of Jabalpur. Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman gave information about Namami Narmade project including road, drinking water, electricity, urban development, health, education, good governance, industry, agriculture and irrigation. People's representatives, intellectuals and a large number of youths were present in the sambad programme.
