Governor visits Army Education Corps Training College Pachmarhi

Governor Mangubhai Patel said that music awakens human emotions. Music is an integral part of human life. Patel was addressing the faculty members of the Centre at the Army Auditorium after visiting the Army Education Corps Training College and Centre at Pachmarhi on Tuesday. He visited the musical instruments museum of the college and said that it was his first experience to see a well organised and large collection of musical instruments together. On this occasion, the Governor's wife Smt. Narmadaben Patel and Principal Secretary to the Governor DP Ahuja were also present.

Governor Patel said that he is extremely happy and proud to have come to the premises of one of the prestigious military institutions of the country. It is a pleasant experience to see the arrangements for the training of Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces and military officers of friendly foreign countries. He congratulated the institute's instructors for successfully working as military interpreters and translators for soldiers trained in foreign language from the college and centre, military international border peace, meetings of strategic importance, international joint military training. The institute has been appreciated for participating in the development of the area, providing employment to more than 300 local people in the institute, maintaining a green environment, providing better medical assistance to the general public and cooperating with the administration in making social awareness programmes successful.

Governor Patel expressed gratitude to the institute for promoting the spirit of nationalism and patriotism among the public by organising band concerts on special occasions for the general public of Pachmarhi. He greeted senior and junior officers and employees of the institute for Army Hospital, Pachmarhi playing an active role in the service of the people by providing emergency medical aid to the citizens by organising blood donation camps and taking good care of the historical heritage buildings and keeping the surrounding areas clean and green. He paid homage to all the martyred soldiers on the occasion of independence. He extended Independence Day greetings to the soldiers and their families.

In the programme, the Governor awarded Subedar Krishna Bahadur Thapa, Naib Subedar Saji Kumar, S Govindu, Havaldar BS Patel, Havaldar Moolchand and Naik Avinash Jadhav for their excellent services. The Governor was presented a memento on behalf of the institute. In the welcome address, Commandant Brigadier Veer Kumar Bhatt gave details of the progress and achievements of the institute.
