Make Concrete Strategy to Improve Education Quality- CM Chouhan

General Meeting of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Mission Concluded  

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that a concrete strategy should be made to improve education quality. He was addressing the General Meeting of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Mission here today. Minister for School Education Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister of State for General Administration Lalsingh Arya, Non Government Members and Departmental Officers were present in the meeting.

Chouhan mentioned that primary and middle schools in maximum numbers have been opened in the state during last 10 years. Maximum participation of people in School Chalein Abhiyan should be ensured. Birth, domicile certificates beside other certificates should not be taken from orphans at the time of admission. Balsabhas should be organised in schools regularly. Construction of incomplete schools' building should be taken up on priority. Encroachment should be removed from all the schools and boundary wall in new school buildings should be constructed or wire fencing should be erected, he added.

It was inform in the meeting that a Annual Work Plan worth Rs. 5 thousand 632 crore for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Mission has been sanctioned in the current financial year. A total of 2 lakh 11 thousand children were enrolled in the schools under the Right to Education in the current year. Moreover, 3 lakh 15 thousand 545 construction works of schools have been completed under the mission in the current year. Action plan of 24 thousand 167 schools has been made under the Shala Siddhi Yojana. Question papers of class 5th and 8th for annual evaluation have been set at state level. Continuous efforts are being made for teachers' training and competency improvement. Programmes like 'Kahani Utsav' and 'Mil Banche Madhya Pradesh' have been organised for improvement in education quality. A total of 97 lakh 21 thousand are pursuing studies in government schools out of total 1 crore 61 lakh 98 thousand students of class 1 to 12 of the state.-WTN
