State Women’s Commission hears 29 cases

Bhopal: State Women’s Commission has instructed Shriram College Management to return the arrears of Rs 35, 519 within 15 days to Smt. Roshni Pawar. Management had given only 10-days salary against one month to Roshni after removing her from job. A joint bench of Chairperson Smt. Lata Wankhede and members Smt. Ganga Uike, Smt. Anju Singh Baghel, Smt. Pramila Vajpayee and Smt. Surya Chouhan today heard 29 cases on the second day of Bhopal bench. This is the 15thjoint bench of the present Commission in Bhopal. The next bench will be on July 31 and August 1.

Smt. Lata Wankhede told that the Commission will write a letter for amendment in the provisions of Pradhan Mantri Upchar Yojana. Smt. Wankhede told that in one case the hospital received fund of Rs 30,000 under Pradhan Mantri Upchar Yojana after the death of a man being treated for cancer. When his sister Kirti who belonged to a financial weak family, demanded the approved fund, the hospital management told her that the fund had been returned to the centre. Not only this, the State Bank is recovering repayment of the loan taken for her deceased brother’s MBA course from their father’s pension. The Commission has summoned the bank manager in the bench to be held on July 27 at Betul. Smt. Wankhede said that she would make efforts to ensure that the fund should be provided to people belonging to weaker sections even if the patient dies after the fund is spent on his treatment.

Appeal

Expressing concern over the rising number of family cases Chairperson Smt. Wankhede appealed newly-wed couples to take at least one year to understand each other and adjust to the new family atmosphere. Smt. Wankhede said that most marriages fail over petty issues and these issues are mostly related to lack of tolerance and ego problems. Every person has a different thinking. Instead of taking things otherwise, couples must try to resolve them and try to establish peace in the family.-WTN
