Need To Deal Cyber Terrorism Strongly: ADGP Manish Shankar Sharma

Bhopal: The world today grapples with problem of cyber terrorism and it is must that counter attack on terrorism on social media is made swiftly by a special team constituted for the purpose.

Terrorists are more advance in cyber attack in comparison to us , said ADGP Manish Shankar Sharma in a symposium on   “Social Media, Technology and Terrorism “held at State Museum and organized by The Hindi Bhawan Trust, Club Literati, Nehru Yuva Kendra and Shikharwarta Group. Chief Guest of the function was Antony De’ Sa, retired Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh and Chairman RERA.

IPS Manish Shankar Sharma who has been  awarded with numerous national and international awards is at present  Additional  Director General of Police.

Speaking in the function Sharma  said that terrorism has been misusing social media and trying to spread hatred amongst masses disturbing the social fabric of the society.  

He suggested that the Union Government should establish a Cyber Cell especially for dealing with such cyber terror attacks. ADGP Manish Shankar Sharma narrated some parts of his article “Global Terrorism: Challenges and Policy Options” published in the book by Pentagon Press, New Delhi. 

Rishi Kumar Shukla, Director General of Police told in length how terrorists are spreading terrorism in the name of religion.  No religion allows violence but some people are taking resort of religion, he said.  

Eminent personalities were present in the function which was also addressed by Mr. Kailashchand Pant Mantri Sanchalak MP Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti and others.-WTN
