Green Ganesh Campaign: Training in 5 divisions in first week of August

Bhopal: A training programme for sculptors would be organised by EPCO in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain and Rewa division in the first week of August under the Green Ganesh Campaign. The training for Bhopal division will begin at EPCO auditorium situated in Paryavaran Parisar from 10.30 a.m. on August 2, 2017.
Participants in each programme will include 15 master trainers, 20 students and two sculptors. Local sculptors will be invited and inspired to make small Ganesh idols of clay and sell it.
The third phase of the campaign will be held from August 16 to 23. In this phase, EPCO team will accompany trained master trainers and sculptors to divisional headquarters and organise two-day Green Ganesh Campaign. In this phase camps will be organised at public places for general public and in schools for students. People will be taught to make statuettes of Ganesh from clay and natural colours in the camps at EPCO. The participants would be allowed to take home the statues made during the training free-of-cost for installation during Ganesh Utsav.
Training was imparted to NGC master trainers and prominent sculptors from 10 divisional headquarters in Bhopal on July 10 in the first phase. During the training, participants were made aware of the ill-effects of POP and chemical –based colours used in making statues on the water quality of rivers, ponds, springs etc after immersion and they were trained to make small shaped statuettes making use of clay and natural colours.-WTN
