Do Not Ignore Cold and Cough, Take Medical Advice immediately

Bhopal: The Health department has appealed to the people of the state not to ignore the cold and cough, sore throat, headaches, breathlessness during fever. Consult doctor immediately at the government hospitals and get the tests done. Do not waste time in domestic remedies at home. Sometimes the infection becomes so severe in absence of proper medical treatment that it becomes impossible for the doctors to handle the case.

Although swine flu cases are less in Madhya Pradesh in comparison to the cases in border states but during the last few days the number of H-1 and N-1 affected patients has increased in the state. Samples of total 391 swine flu suspected patients have been taken for the test fromJuly 01, to August 22. Total 344 reports have been received and 47 reports are yet to come. Swine flu has been confirmed in 72 patients till date. 18 patients in government hospitals and 14 patients in private hospitals are under treatment. During this period 13 swine flu patients have succumbed to the disease. Today, six test of dengue has been conducted and dengue has confirmed in one patient of Bhopal.

What to Do and What Not to Do

Use handkerchief and tissue paper in case of cold and cough, Dispose of tissue paper in the dustbin. Always keep one meter distance from the patient. Patients should take care that they should touch mouth by hands at the time meals only and should not shake hands with others. Wash hands with soap in case of contact of hands with nose, mouth or eyes and avoid going to public places.

Use salt and luke warm water or listerine for gargling. Consume hot liquid substances in maximum. Consume balanced and nutritious food and consume vitamin C like lemon, amla, oranges etc. Keep in mind that zinc is included in it if you take Vitamin C tablets. Vitamin C can be absorbed by the body by consuming Zinc Vitamin-C tablet.

The mosquito of the dengue grows in clean water and bites in the day. So keep your home and surrounding areas cleaned. Do not keep water in coolers, tyres, utensils and pots etc. for a long time. Always wear full sleeves clothes. Where water drainage is not possible, pour a spoonful of mustard oil. The larvae will not grow due to the formation of oil layer over water. Consume more fluids.-WTN
