One days long workshop on 'Conservation of Ethnographic Specimens' commenced today

A One days long workshop on 'Conservation of Ethnographic Specimens' commenced today at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal. The  Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri (Director, IGRMS) inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address, Prof. Chaudhuri said "How to keep things stored in the museum for a very long time. You will get training about this which will work for you in the future. As well as the place of museum entertainment, it is an educational institute. The people who have been talking for a long time, they all get to see the museum in one day. Presently you can join the museum with social media (Face book) and you can acquire many type knowledge".

The programme conveyor of this workshop and head of conservation section of IGRMS, Mr. D.S. Rao said "The availability of Ethnographic specimens has decreased drastically and is on the verge of extinction since the growth of plastic usage. Hence for future of Ethnographic specimens, conservation is the only solution". Above 60 senior secondary School girls student are participating in the workshop. The workshop was coordinated by Mr. Deepak Chaudhary (Conservation Associate) and Mr. S. K. Singh, (Conservation Associate) gave the vote of thanks.-WTN
