Turkey, Russia, Iran to hold summit on Syria issue

Ankara Nov 16 (IANS) The leaders of Turkey Russia and Iran will hold a trilateral meeting in Russia s Black Sea resort city of Sochi on November 22 to discuss the Syria issue state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Thursday.

Three Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan Vladimir Putin and Hassan Rouhani will discuss the latest developments in Syria and regional situation according to Turkish presidential source.

Erdogan and Putin who met in Sochi on November 13 will meet for the sixth time this year.

Turkey and Russia together with Iran are guarantor countries that brokered a cease-fire in Syria in December 2016 which led to the Astana talks being held in parallel with UN-backed discussions in Geneva to find a political solution to the six-year conflict.
