Two Indians held with explosive materials in Nepal
Kathmandu Dec 1 (IANS) Two Indian men were arrested here on Friday for possessing materials used in preparing improvised explosive devices (IED).
The police detained the men from a bus en route to Kathmandu from Kakarbhitta during a security check the Kathmandu Post reported.
All the IED paraphernalia and raw materials were handed over to the Army said a police official. Authorities declined to reveal the names of the suspects.
Ahead of the second phase of parliamentary and provincial elections on December 7 attacks on candidates and their rallies have gone up in the country.
Four people were injured in a bomb blast at an election rally of the ruling Nepali Congress on Thursday in Itahari city.
On Wednesday a police recruit injured in an IED blast died in Dang district while a National Congress candidate was among seven people who were seriously hurt in a blast in Udaypur.
