6-magnitude quake hits Iran-Iraq border

Tehran Dec 11 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter Scale shook the border region of Iran and Iraq on Monday evening the Iran Seismological Centre said.
The epicentre of the quake which was felt in Iran s Kermanshah province was at a depth of 10 km 35.066 degrees north latitude and 45.795 degrees east longitude in the Iraqi border city of Halubcah Xinhua news agency reported.
On November 12 a devastating 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Iran in a region bordering Iraq killing over 500 people and injuring nearly 10 000. It caused massive destruction and left tens of thousands homeless.
