Roadside bomb kills 12 in Afghanistan

Kabul Jan 21 (IANS) At least 12 civilians were killed after a roadside bomb struck a civilian vehicle in Afghanistan s western Herat province on Sunday police said.
"The militants planted a mine on a road in Gulran district. The device struck a civilian vehicle at around noon killing 12 innocent civilians and injuring one " a police spokesman told Xinhua news agency.
