Two women killed in Afghanistan explosion

Kabul Feb 2 (IANS) Two women were killed and five persons were injured in an explosion in Afghanistan s Ghani province on Friday an official said.
The incident occurred in the morning after a vehicle carrying seven persons was struck by an improvised explosive device in Cherli village in Gellan district said a provincial government spokesman.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Taliban and Islamic State militants have been using roadside bombs and landmines to target security forces but the lethal home-made weapons also inflict casualties on civilians.
Some 2 640 civilians were killed and over 5 370 injured in conflict-related incidents in the first nine months of 2017 according to the UN mission.
