Israeli drone crashes in Lebanon

Jerusalem March 31 (IANS) An Israeli drone crashed in an open area in Lebanon the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Saturday.

"This is due to a technical malfunction. There is no risk of leaked information " Xinhua news agency quoted the statement as saying. The Israeli Army also added that the incident that took place on Friday night is currently being reviewed. According to Hezbollah s al-Manar TV station the drone went down between the villages of Beit Yahoun and Baraachit in southern Lebanon. The IDF drone was on an intelligence-gathering mission in southern Lebanon as part of routine operations which also included an increased activity of fighter jets in northern Israel the media added. --IANS and/ksk/vm
