5 killed in China colliery blast

Beijing May 9 (IANS) Five persons were killed in China early on Wednesday after a methane gas explosion ripped through a coal mine in Hunan authorities said.
The explosion occurred at about 3 a.m. in the Baodian Qunli Mining coal pit an official said. A rescue operation is under way. A probe has been launched Xinhua news agency reported.
