8 held in Sydney drug raid
Sydney March 8 (IANS) At least seven men and a woman were arrested when the Australian Police raided a unit here it announced on Wednesday.
The police recovered methamphetamine valuing $246.29 million Xinhua news agency reported.
The men were arrested on Monday at the unit in the Sydney suburb of Smithfield and faced court on Tuesday.
The woman was arrested late Tuesday and will face court on Wednesday.
The arrests were the part of a joint investigation between the police and Australian Border Force who tracked the shipment from the US.
The drugs were concealed in 396 bottles marked as protein powder with a total weight of 540 kgs.
