Taiwan independence can never be allowed: China

Beijing March 29 (IANS) Declaring that the mainland and Taiwan belong to one China a Chinese spokesman on Wednesday asserted that Taiwan independence can never be allowed.

Ma Xiaoguang spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office said: We will continue to uphold the 1992 Consensus which reflects the One China principle.

We will strive for peaceful reunification with the greatest efforts and utmost sincerity but will never allow any Taiwan independence supporters to separate Taiwan from China under any name or in any form Xinhua news agency quoted Ma as saying.

When asked about Taiwan s activities with international organisations Ma said arrangements must be made through consultations between the mainland and Taiwan under the One China principle.
