Drug lord arrested in Mexico
Mexico City May 3 (IANS) Damaso Lopez Nunez a leader of an international drug trafficking cartel has been arrested in Mexico city the country s prosecutor-general (PGR) said.
PGR s head of criminal investigation Omar Hamid on Tuesday said Nunez was captured at a residential building Xinhua news agency reported.
The operation took place without any violence Hamid said.
Nunez works for Sinaloa cartel -- a drug trafficking money laundering and organised crime syndicate and is believed to be a likely successor to Joaquin El Chapo Guzman to head the cartel after he was extradited to the US in January.
