Nine die in Nepal accident

Kathmandu Aug 5 (IANS) Nine persons were killed and seven injured when their vehicle plunged into a 500 metre deep gorge in Doti district of Nepal police said on Saturday.
The vehicle carrying 16 persons skidded off the mountain road at Botagan area Xinhua news agency quoted a police officer as saying.
Four of the injured were in critical condition the police said.
The vehiclewas en route to Dipayal district from Doti.
Poor condition of roads and ill-maintained vehicles are major reasons behind road accidents in the Himalayan nation.
