Man commits suicide at Rome underground station

Rome Aug 23 (IANS/AKI) A man committed suicide at Rome s Barberini metro station on Wednesday jumping on to the track as a train was entering reports said.
The incident forced local transport company Atac to close a section of the line linking the stop to the central Termini rail station for several hours.
The 60-year-old man who worked as a waiter on nearby Via Veneto was allegedly suffering from depression and committed suicide Rome daily Il Messaggero reported on its website.
Firemen had to use a crane to recover the man s body which was trapped between the underground train and the tracks the daily said quoting police.
