Airstrike kills 12 Afghan security personnel

Kabul Oct 2 (IANS) Twelve security personnel were killed after Afghan aircraft mistakenly pounded their positions in Helmand province a defence official said on Monday.
"The airstrike took place in Otrang village of Gereshk district on a position where Afghan troops were involved in operations against the Taliban " the official told Xinhua news agency.
