Hashish seized in Kolkata, 3 held

Kolkata Dec 11 (IANS) The city unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau seized nearly two and a half kgs of hashish here and arrested three people an official said on Monday.

Two Kolkata residents named Henry Lawrence Manna and Robert Dixon were arrested from outside a departmental store near Sealdah railway station on Sunday. Two kgs of hashish was seized from them an NCB official said.

"Another 450 grams was seized from Dixon s house in Ballygunge. The total worth of the seized drug is about Rs 15 lakh in the illegal trading market " he added.

Interrogation revealed that the drug which is made from cannabis resin was brought here from Himachal Pradesh s Kullu to be sold to people for various Christmas and New Year parties in the city.

The officials also arrested Nikhil Lakhwani DJ of a prominent central Kolkata night club on Sunday for his alleged involvement in the case.
