Lucknow Dec 13 (IANS) A day ahead of the start of the Uttar Pradesh assembly s winter session an all-party meeting was held here on Wednesday wherein Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit sought the cooperation of all parties in the smooth functioning of the house.



The Speaker said that logical factual and qualitative dialogue can go a long way in finding solutions to problems faced by the state s people.

The meeting was attended among others by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chowdhary Suhail Dev of the Bharatiya Samaj Party state Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar Bahujan Samaj Party s Lalji Verma Congress leader Ajay Kumar Lalu and Apna Dal s Neel Ratan Singh Patel Neetu .

The Chief Minister assured the Speaker of full cooperation from the treasury benches on this count and said that solutions come out of effective and logical dialogue and not by stalling the house proceedings.

"In a healthy democracy it is the opposition s responsibility to ensure smooth functioning of the house " he said adding that his government was committed to ensuring maximum and regular sittings of the assembly.

Adityanath said the government was ready to provide factual information and hold a debate on all issues of public interest.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna underlined the need for coordination between the treasury and opposition benches.
