UP frees 93 prisoners on Vajpayee s birthday

Lucknow Dec 25 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh government set free 93 prisoners from their jail term - in a gesture of respect to former Prime Minister and veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee who turned 93 on Monday.
Of the freed prisoners six were from the Lucknow zone 19 from the Agra zone 14 each from the Varanasi and Faizabad zones 5 from the Gorakhpur zone 16 from the Kanpur zone 8 from the Allahabad zone and 11 from the Bareilly zone said a Home Department official.
