Two teenagers die, one injured after truck rams scooty

New Delhi Jan 18 (IANS) Two young boys died while another fractured his leg on Thursday when a speeding truck rammed their two-wheeler here on Thursday police said adding the accused driver was arrested from the spot.

Police said the incident occurred in west Delhi around 1 p.m when Firoz 17 Monu 15 and Rohit 16 residents of Sagarpur area were triple-riding on a scooty.

"A speeding truck rammed them while they were riding on scooty on the wrong lane. A passerby informed police and the three were taken to the nearby Deen Dayal Upadhyaya hospital where Firoz and Monu were declared dead while the injured Rohit was admitted for treatment " said Deputy Commissioner of Police Milind Mahadeo Dumbere.

"During investigation it was found that they skipped their school and were enjoying a ride on Firoz s scooty. Monu was driving the scooty. They were not wearing helmets " the officer said.
