Infiltration foiled on LoC, two terrorists killed (Second Lead)

Jammu Feb 15 (IANS) The Army killed two militants in a gunfight on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir s Poonch district on Thursday foiling an infiltration bid from Pakistan military sources said.

"Alert troops noticed suspicious movements in Balakote area early on Thursday " a source said. "A brief firing exchange took place between the troops and the terrorists. Two intruding terrorists were killed while a search operation is going on."

The Pakistani Army on Wednesday violated the 2003 ceasefire in Nowshera sector of the LoC in Rajouri district.

"They violated the ceasefire around 7 p.m. using small arms automatics and mortars. But our positions retaliated effectively and strongly " the source added.
