Five all-women PCR vans launched in Delhi

New Delhi March 8 (IANS) Delhi Police on Thursday launched five all-women PCR vans on International Women s Day to ensure women s safety in the capital.
"Women feel easier in communicating with women police and narrate their grievances without hesitation " Special Commissioner of Police (Women Safety and Operations) Sanjay Baniwal said in a statement.
Twenty-seven women police personnel trained in firing and unarmed combat will be deployed at Vishwavidyalaya Delhi University Rajeev Chowk LSR College and Sri Venkateswara College.
"These PCR vans will instil a sense of confidence in persons who approach them in distress " he added.
