Ten killed in UP road accident

Lucknow March 23 (IANS) Ten people were killed and eight others injured when a speeding truck hit a vehicle in Uttar Pradesh s Pratapgarh district on Friday police said.
The vehicle headed to Chauharjan Devi temple in Pratapgarh was carrying 18 people from Jaunpur district. A district official told IANS that six of the injured were in critical condition.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 000 each to the injured an official spokesman said.
