SC declines early hearing of Swamy s plea on Ayodhya worship
New Delhi April 23 (IANS) The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hold an early hearing of BJP leader Subramanian Swamy s plea on his right to offer prayers at the makeshift temple at the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya.
A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra asked him to mention the plea at a later date.
Emerging from the court Swamy said his right to worship at Ram Janmabhoomi stood at a higher pedestal than the dispute over the ownership of the site between contending parties.
