EC countermands poll in Bengaluru Assembly seat
Bengaluru May 4 (IANS) The Election Commission on Friday countermanded the May 12 Assembly election in south Bengaluru s Jayanagar constituency following the death of BJP candidate B.N. Vijaya Kumar.
"In view of the death of Bharatiya Janata Party s contestant in the fray from the Jayanagar assembly constituency election is being countermanded and postponed to a later date " said the constituency s Returning Officer Mamatha in a statement here.
Vijaya Kumar who was the sitting member died here on early Friday. He was 59.
