CRPF trooper foils weapon snatching attempt in J&K

Srinagar May 31 (IANS) An alert Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper on Thursday foiled a weapon snatching attempt in Jammu and Kashmir s Kulgam district officials said.
Police said two persons armed with axes tried to snatch the service rifle of a CRPF trooper near the mini secretariat in Kulgam town that houses the office of the district magistrate.
"The CRPF jawan sustained minor injuries but foiled the attempt " a police officer said.
After their attempt failed the assailants reportedly escaped. Additional deployments were rushed to trace the assailants.
