Soldier injured in gunfight near LoC dies

Srinagar June 7 (IANS) A soldier injured in a gunfight with militants near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday succumbed to injuries in a hospital.
Defence sources said Sepoy Sukhvinder Singh of the Rashtriya Rifles died in army s base hospital here.
After the soldier s condition deteriorated he was shifted from army s Drugmulla hospital in Kupwara district to 92 base hospital in Badamibagh area here.
Two soldiers were injured earlier in the day in Keran sector when a patrol party of the Rashtriya Rifles intercepted a group of three-four militants trying to sneak into the state from Pakistan triggering a gunfight.
