Elephant found dead in Bengal

An elephant was found dead in a West Bengal village on Thursday, a forest department official said.

Talking to IANS, Divisional Forest Officer of Rupnarayan Division in Midnapore district, Arnab Sengupta, said: “The pachyderm was 15 to 20 years old and was discovered in Bhatmara village in West Midnapore district.”

The cause of death is yet to be established, Sengupta said. –IANS
